US captain Carli Lloyd scored an incredible goal in the first half of the Women’s World Cup against Japan, to earn a hat trick and to record the fastest hat trick in FIFA World Cup final history.
Lloyd scored the third goal from the halfway line. The ball floated above the head of Japanese goalkeeper Kaihori but she was unable to flick it around the post.
As a result, Lloyd’s goal will surely rank as one of the best goals you’ll ever see in a World Cup final — men’s or women’s.
