Real Madrid throw away players like used towels

Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has continued his verbal assault on Real Madrid by declaring the La Liga club buys players “like you buy a facecloth – and then throws them away like a facecloth.”

Despite signing a contract extension with Juventus, Pogba has still been linked with a move away from the Serie A side. The France international extended his agreement with the Italian champions in October in a deal which tied him to the Turin club until June 2019.

In February, his representative told Gazzetta dello Sport that Pogba would likely leave the Serie A side “this year or the next.”

Raiola also revealed Real Madrid turned down an opportunity to sign the talented midfielder on two separate occasions because the club felt he would eventually come available on a free transfer.

Recently, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti praised Pogba but also stated the Spanish club was not interested in signing the player – for now.

Today, during an interview with the French publication L’Equipe, Pogba’s agent responded to the comments made by Ancelotti by saying he doesn’t want his client to play for Madrid, before attacking the manner in which the La Liga giant handles its transfer business.

“If that’s the case, we’re not interested in Real either,” Raiola said in response to Ancelotti statement. “I have never gone to Madrid to tell them: ‘Please, would you like to buy Pogba?’

“Real Madrid are a club that is used to buying players like you buy a facecloth – and then throws them away like a facecloth.”

The agent went on to pass judgment Real Madrid’s summer acquisition of Colombia international and Golden Boot winner, James Rodriguez.

“Real are a team that sees a player who has six good games at the World Cup and buys him,” Raiola added.

“We don’t want to go to a club like that. We want to go to a club that believes in Paul’s potential. I am not closing the door at Real, but I’m not opening it either.”

Despite signing his extension with Juventus, Pogba continues to be linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
