John Terry joins Chelsea fans in away end against Liverpool

Former Chelsea defender and captain John Terry joined away fans at Anfield as Liverpool hosted the Blues on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League that ended scoreless.

The 42-year-old seemed to enjoy his time in the crowd and joined the club fans in singing a chant about him winning the double and mocking Tottenham Hotspur. The ex-English captain posed for photos with the Chelsea fans and later took to his Instagram profile about the experience.

Terry captioned his post saying,

“I loved being in the away end with our supporters today. As a player you arrive on the bus and head straight to the dressing room, you don’t get to see or feel what the fans feel.

When I retired I always wanted to be in the away end with our supporters and I absolutely loved it today. A huge thank you to our supporters who travel the world supporting our great club.”

Fans mob club legend

Several social media videos have emerged that shows Terry being mobbed by the Blues fans and he even retweeted the video saying, “Chelsea away. What a day and great experience to be in the away end with our supporters.”

Terry took up an assistant manager role at Aston Villa post retirement when he joined Dean Smith’s coaching team but left the role in the summer of 2021.

However, the former center back wasn’t treated to an enthralling game with both sides picking up a point.

Mudryk comes on

New Chelsea signing Mykahilo Mudryk came off the bench for an impressive cameo but much needs to seen how manager Graham Potter motivates his sides in the second half of the season.

Chelsea have one just one of their last five league games and currently sit tenth in the standings with 29 points from 20 games, 10 points adrift of Newcastle United for a Champions League berth. Liverpool are a place ahead with the same points having played one less game.
