Germany beat Italy 6-5 on penalties in Euro 2016 quarter-final

Bordeaux (AFP) – Jonas Hector struck the winning penalty as Germany progressed to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 with a 6-5 win over Italy on penalties after a marathon shootout.

The match ended 1-1 at the end of extra-time as Leonardo Bonucci’s penalty cancelled out Mesut Ozil’s opener for Germany.
