EPL commentators on NBC: March 4 to 6

The Premier League is back in action as the calendar turns to March. The weekend’s slate of games has some tasty fixtures, too. That includes a derby, a top-five clash and some key games for relegation candidates.

The Manchester City game against Newcastle kicks the weekend off on Saturday morning. The reverse fixture in the league delivered one of the games of the season. a 3-3 draw at St. James Park featured magnificent goals and a comeback. The game at Etihad Stadium is major for both, as Newcastle is trailing Tottenham in the table, and City needs points to keep up with Arsenal at the top.

After that, the relegation battle is huge. Leeds travels to Chelsea, which has been handing out points this season to those at the bottom. Southampton picked up three points there before losing at Leeds. The Saints host Leicester City on Saturday still sitting at the bottom of the table. The other relegation candidates are Everton, Bournemouth, West Ham and Wolves. All are underdogs in their games at the weekend.

Even then, the biggest game on Sunday is Manchester United’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool. This could be major moment in the future of both clubs. With a win at Anfield, United would complete the double over Liverpool this season. In doing so, Erik ten Hag would have his club legitimately in the title race. The Red Devils only trail Arsenal by eight and City by six, not insurmountable by any means. Liverpool is still in contention to finish in the top four. However, Jürgen Klopp’s side is still nine points adrift of Tottenham in that regard. Three points over an in-form United would do wonders.

NBC coverage this weekend

Rebecca Lowe is back behind the NBC coverage desk this weekend, joined by Tim Howard and Robbie Mustoe. Paul Burmeister fills in on Monday’s buffer coverage. The studio crews have pregame and postgame coverage for each of the six kickoff windows this weekend.

The busiest of those windows is Saturday at 10 a.m., when there are five simultaneous games. Tune into GOAL RUSH. This whiparound show focuses on one game, but includes highlights and major moments as they happen from the other four grounds.

There are also games in 4K this weekend, three of them, in fact. Those are The City-Newcastle game, Liverpool and United’s clash and the finale between Brentford and Fulham. To watch the Premier League in 4K, make sure you have the right hardware and subscriptions necessary.
