Deloitte Football Money League – Real Madrid top, Manchester United get richer

Real Madrid was named the top dog in the Deloitte football money league for the 10th consecutive year matching their La Decima triumph a few months ago.

The Los Blancos raked in a hefty €549.5m in revenues in 2013-14 and are joined by Manchester United and Bayern Munich who take the second and third spots after recording €92.4m and €56.3m increase in revenue respectively.

Barcelona’s fall from second to fourth in the standings was well documented with the Catalans generating only a €2m increase from the 2012-13 season.

Paris Saint-Germain was placed fifth, while English sides Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool were ranked sixth to ninth with Italian Champions Juventus completing the top 10.

Perhaps the biggest surprises were Swansea City and Stoke City who came in 29th and 30th respectively after seeing a massive increase in revenue mainly due to TV money.
