Arsenal vs. Leicester City predicted lineups and team news

The biggest game of the weekend will see Leicester City travel to the Emirates Stadium to play Arsenal on Sunday (7am ET kickoff in the United States on NBCSN).

The Foxes shocked the Premier League when they trounced Manchester City 3-1 last weekend away from home to establish themselves as the leading contenders for the title.

Claudio Ranieri’s men are five points clear at the top coming into this fixture and could increase the gap to at least six points if they manage a win here and Tottenham fail to beat Manchester City.

Their hosts, Arsenal, ended a four-match winless streak as they beat Bournemouth 2-0 away from home last Sunday which meant they moved up to third on the log.

Arsene Wenger’s men had earlier defeated Leicester 5-2 this season at the King Power Stadium in September and they will be hoping for a repeat performance in this crucial fixture.

A positive stat for the Gunners is that Claudio Ranieri has not managed to get the better of Wenger in eight league attempts, which bodes well for the Frenchman coming into this match.

Team news

With no new injuries to worry about, Wenger is likely to stick with the same starting XI that beat Bournemouth last week which means that Per Mertesacker will remain on the bench while Gabriel Paulista and Laurent Koscielny pair up at the heart of the defense.

Tomas Rosicky (thigh), Santi Cazorla (knee) and Jack Wilshere (calf) remain unavailable for selection due to injury.

Leicester are also likely to keep the same starting XI from the last game with Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki up top while N’golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez pull the strings from midfield. Jeff Schlupp (hamstring) and Matthew James (ACL) are the only players ruled out for the Foxes.
