World Soccer Talk’s favorite mainstream pundit and comedian John Oliver was on the Late Show With David Letterman last night to talk about his favorite topic — professional soccer.
Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver on HBO, was the man who brilliantly summed up everything that is morally wrong with FIFA. After being featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine where he discussed his dream of becoming a professional footballer, Oliver took time out of his busy schedule to educate Letterman on the British class system that is used in British football.
While Oliver’s jokes are funny as usual, don’t expect that the information shared will educate mainstream America on how the leagues work especially when Oliver can’t even remember how many teams are in the Premier League. Such is life for a Liverpool supporter who’s usually only looking at the top of the table!
