Mexico’s Carlos Vela scored a contender for the goal of the season not just in La Liga but the whole of Europe. Vela, a former Arsenal player, has failed to impress or hold a place not just with the Gunners but a couple of other European clubs.
His scoring record is rather unimpressive for an attacker but this stunning overhead goal could change everything for Vela. The Mexican striker will probably gain a lot of confidence from this goal. This is certainly a difficult move to pull-off, in particular when he had to control the ball at first and maintain his balance before striking with a bicycle-kick to find the back of the net.
What makes this goal even more precious is the fact it was a valuable one which came towards the end of the match to secure a point for Real Sociedad against Malaga with his team trailing 1-2.
