Fox Soccer Channel’s announcement this week that they’ve entered into a five-year programming deal with Soccer United Marketing that includes live and exclusive rights to a selection of Major League Soccer matches through 2010 will not impact the network’s coverage of the English Premier League.
Looking at FSC’s TV schedule for August through October, the MLS games will mostly be shown on some Saturday and Sunday nights. Football from the Italian and Argentine leagues returns. However, it appears that the Bundesliga will no longer be televised by Fox.
As we revealed on this blog as early as July 11th, FSC’s Saturday schedule is 7.5 hours of continuous content starting at (all times Eastern) 9:30am with the EPL Review Show, followed by the 10am live Premiership match, then the 12:15pm live match. From 2:30-3:00pm, it’s “Super Saturday +” followed by a tape-delayed match at 3pm.
Fox will then show the 11am ET Sunday match live, and will show some of the Monday and mid-week matches. An official announcement will be made soon regarding who will show some of the other big Premiership matches.
