Mario Balotelli Must Be Sold, Says AC Milan Owner Silvio Berlusconi: Daily Soccer Report

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has decided to put striker Mario Balotelli up for sale, according to a report in the Italian media. Berlusconi is understood to have had enough of Balotelli, who he called a rotten apple one year ago, and the Milan owner wants to create a new image for AC Milan instead of the ‘bad boy’ appearance that Super Mario gives the Serie A side.

The Italian newspaper reports that the “decision [to sell Balotelli was] made in accordance with daughter Barbara Berlusconi, one of the two managing directors of the Rossoneri.”

Could Balotelli head back to England in the January transfer window? And, if so, which club would be able to afford him? Or is it more likely that he’ll play elsewhere on the continent?

UPDATE: AC Milan have issued a statement to say that Mario Balotelli is NOT for sale.
