Less than one day before the start of the FA’s hearing into the Anton Ferdinand saga, John Terry has announced that he’s retiring from international soccer and will no longer play for England. Reading between the lines, Terry is probably making the move now knowing that the FA would have banned him from England duty anyway, so rather than take the punishment, it looks like he’s making a preemptive decision. If that’s true, I don’t blame him from retiring. It’s time for him to hang up his England boots anyway.
