Senegal’s WIW Sport offers the headline “Lions not on the same level.” Inside, it leads with Aliou Cissé’s sentiment that “I am proud of my boys but we must admit the superiority of England”

The Dakar Buzz reports on the sad scene from a massive watch party at a local university. The paper also offers a message of support from Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mané, who could have made a big difference in the match.

Reaction in France to the win against Poland

Sud Ouest, out of Bordeaux, goes big and bold in saying that France is ready to devour England’s lions.

Lille’s La Voix du Nord offers a delightful little rhyme that’s better off left in French:

The Journal L’Ardennais is blunt, saying that now it’s England’s turn after France easily dispatched Poland.

France’s sporting paper, L’Equipe, finds no room for France’s next opponent at all on its cover. You have to scroll way down to find a tactical preview asking “Which England will face France in the World Cup quarter-finals?”
