West Bromwich Albion have appointed manager Roy Hodgson to replace Roberto Di Matteo.

Caretaker manager Michael Appleton will remain in charge of the West Brom team in their match tomorrow against West Ham United.

Whether the appointment of Hodgson will be enough to keep West Brom in the Premier League by the end of the season, we’ll have to wait and see. But I see the appointment of Hodgson as a positive move. Hogdson has experience keeping a Premier League team in the club such as what he did when he walked into the Fulham job to keep the Craven Cottage team in the top flight.

For Hodgson, this is a chance to redeem himself with many critics, whether they be soccer fans or pundits. I still believe he’s an exceptional manager but he wasn’t able to make a positive change at Liverpool where the players seemed unwilling to play to their abilities. Hodgson also made mistakes which ended up seeing him sacked by Fenway Sports Group and replaced by Kenny Dalglish.

What are your thoughts about Roy Hodgson being appointed manager of West Brom? And do you think he and the team have what it takes to stay up this season?
