MLS News and Notes

  • Josh Gros suffered yet another concussion Saturday night for DC United against Columbus. The Washington Post reports that Gros could be out for the season, and the club is sending him to see a neurologist.
  • The Dallas Morning News reports FC Dallas is prepared to part company with Trinidad and Tobago World Cup keeper Shaka Hislop. Ray Burse Jr. has been outstanding in goal for the Hoops lately and Hislop who is among the highest paid goalkeepers in MLS, is now third on the depth chart behind Burse and Dario Sala. Hislop was a fixture in the Premier League until he joined FC Dallas after the World Cup, but at 38, perhaps he’ll simply retire once released.
  • Andy Welsh’s decision to go public with his unhappiness about being subbed out of Toronto FC’s last game has led to speculation about Manager Mo Johnston’s relationship with his players. But according to the Toronto Sun, Johnston still commands a united locker room.
