Sunday’s Premier League game between Manchester City and Liverpool averaged 1.022 million viewers on the NBC over-the-air network.
The 1-1 draw was shown live on NBC network television from 12:30 to 2:30pm ET. The later than usual kickoff time for a high profile Premier League game on a Sunday was a result of the US moving to Daylight Saving Time last week, while the UK doesn’t recognize DST until March 26. The 12:30pm ET kickoff time allowed NBC Sports to air the March 19 game on its over-the-air network instead of televising it on NBCSN at 11:30am ET.
With both Manchester City and Liverpool only getting one point each for the draw, that meant that Tottenham Hotspur was able to leapfrog both teams into second place in the Premier League table.
NBC Sports’ next Premier League match it’ll televise is the Liverpool against Everton derby on Saturday, April 1 with a 7:30am ET/4:30am PT kickoff time.
