We are already in mid-March and wow has this year flown by.  Why is it the older you get the faster the years go by? Anyway, you aren’t reading this caring about the speed of years, you want to know what team is the La Liga Team Of The Week for Jornada 27.  This time we got a good one and it might be pretty obvious.  Remember that the Team Of The Week played matches and/or made headlines during the calendar week of March 9 – 15. Futbol Club Barcelona

As a Barça fan, I’ve been waiting all season to name FC Barcelona as Team Of The Week but they haven’t been worthy until this past week.  Last Wednesday, Blaugrana secured their place in the quarterfinals of UEFA Champions League with a 5-2 victory over French champs, Lyon.  Thierry Henry’s double finished Les Gones and helped Barça to a 6-3 aggregate victory.

Barça finished the week with an important 2-0 road win against Almeria.  This time the Catalans displayed their depth with Bojan Krkic scoring both goals in the 2nd half to keep Barcelona 6 points ahead of 2nd place Real Madrid.  Winning by at least 2 goals in both Europe & La Liga is undeniable.  Therefore, Futbol Club Barcelona is the Week 27 La Liga Team Of The Week.
