Saturday’s exciting World Cup match between Germany and Sweden was the most-watched English-Language soccer telecast since the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final on FOX (22,317,000 on FOX alone for the full telecast in 2015).
The Germany-Sweden game averaged 5,397,000 viewers on FOX and 3,430,000 on Telemundo for a combined average of 8,827,000 viewers.
For FOX Sports, peaking at 6,736,000 viewers, the German victory was the most-watched non-U.S. Men’s World Cup Group Stage match on English-language television since at least 1990. And it’s FOX’s most-watched FIFA World Cup day to date for the 2018 tournament. Plus boosted by the viewership for this game and the Mexico-Korea match that proceeded it, match viewership on FOX Sports is now up +108% from the 2014 World Cup Group Stage average and up +189% from the 2010 World Cup Group Stage average, excluding U.S. matches. World Cup viewership across FOX and FS1 is averaging 2,125,000 viewers.

On streaming, the Germany-Sweden match had 689,000 unique streamers across the FOX Sports streaming platforms compared to Telemundo’s stream of the game that averaged 320,000 viewers.
