The first round of the 2025 Club World Cup has come to an end, and it certainly gave fans plenty to talk about. There were entertaining matches, some unexpected results—and also concerns about attendance. While some stadiums were packed, others saw plenty of empty seats. Below is a ranking of the most and least attended matches from Matchday 1. So, which game attracted the biggest crowd? And which one had the fewest fans?
Most attended match: PSG vs. Atlético Madrid
No surprise here. As many anticipated, the biggest draw of the first round was the high-profile clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Atlético Madrid, which took place at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles. The match drew an impressive 80,619 fans. The reigning Champions League winners, PSG, thrilled the crowd with a dominant 4–0 win.
Least attended match: Ulsan HD vs. Mamelodi Sundowns
At the other end of the spectrum, the lowest-attended match was the Group Stage meeting between Ulsan HD and Mamelodi Sundowns. Held at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, the game saw just 3,412 fans in the stands. Quite the contrast compared to the PSG-Atlético blockbuster. The South African side won the game 1–0.
