Despite being one of the greatest Brazilian players of the last decade, Neymar had gone nearly three years without playing for Brazil. However, head coach Carlo Ancelotti has decided to reintegrate him into the squad for the 2026 World Cup, prompting the 34-year-old star to react on social media.

After being left out by Carlo Ancelotti from Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad, Chelsea striker Joao Pedro issued a statement on social media.

After revealing Brazil's squad, coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted that Neymar "will be important" for the 2026 World Cup.

Neymar has been officially included by Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti in the squad list for the 2026 World Cup.

Despite not being part of Carlo Ancelotti’s process with Brazil, Neymar Jr. has been included in the 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup. With this call-up, the 34-year-old star ends a lengthy absence after playing his last match for the national team several years ago.

Neymar Jr. has not been a regular presence for Brazil in recent years, spending a long period away from the national team. However, Carlo Ancelotti recently praised the 34-year-old star just days before Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad announcement, providing major hints of his comeback.

Neymar’s future with Brazil appears to have taken a major turn ahead of the 2026 World Cup, with growing reports suggesting Carlo Ancelotti is now preparing to include the Santos star in his final 26-man squad.

The Brazil Football Federation has announced that Carlo Ancelotti will remain at the head coaching role until the 2030 World Cup.

With the Santos star included in the preliminary squad, speculation continues to grow over whether the veteran forward will make the final 26-man roster for the tournament.

Amid disappointing results, Real Madrid are reportedly pursuing the appointment of José Mourinho as the team’s new head coach. In light of this possibility, former Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti has decided to support the Portuguese manager’s potential return.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the development made by Neymar to reach full fitness once again, but also highlighted that he has "no pressure" on including him in Brazil's roster for the 2026 World Cup.

Neymar Jr. appears to have very little chance of making the 2026 World Cup, as it has been three years since his last match with Brazil. Despite this, Lionel Messi has decided to support the return of the 34-year-old star, making it clear that he remains one of the best players in the world.

Throughout his tenure as head coach, Carlo Ancelotti has decided not to rely on Neymar Jr. and Thiago Silva, instead opting for younger players. Nevertheless, he has reportedly decided to include both veterans in Brazil’s preliminary squad for the 2026 World Cup, opening doors for a comeback.

Neymar’s inclusion has revived hopes that one of the nation’s greatest players could appear at another World Cup, although questions still remain about whether the Santos attacker will survive the final selection process.

Davide Ancelotti, an assistant to his father Carlo with the Brazil national team, discussed expectations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
