Not sure where to leave this message, but on your list of movies, you have to include Gregory’s Girl. It deserves at the very least, an honorable mention, just because it is so dated, but it is still a classic!!

I agree. It’s a great film. If you’d like that one, I highly recommend “Comfort And Joy.” It’s from the same era, but has nothing to do with soccer, but it’s a brilliant film.

-It’s interesting that Kartik concludes from Mourihno’s tenure at Real Madrid that the club is unmanageable. That’s not the narrative that’s been put out there. It’s mostly been about Mourihno behaving dictatorially and falling out with players (and he generally gets the blame for this). I don’t feel strongly one way or the other; it’s just interesting to hear an opinion that goes against the narrative.

-Also interesting to hear Matt mention friction with the Chelsea fans as a reason for Abramovich re-hiring Mourihno. Large sections of the CFC fanbase loved Di Matteo, but Abramovich had no problem getting rid of him, so I’m not sure he’s brought JM back to placate fans he’s previously had no problem antagonizing.

And did Abramhovich really have his pick of managers? Once the Guardiola fantasy evaporated, who else (realistically) was in the running for the Chelsea manager’s job?
