The 2014 World Cup in Brazil was something special, not just in the amount of goals that were scored, but the quality of soccer from almost every one of the 32 teams. To make sure we don’t forget any of the memorable moments, We assembled several of our favorite GIFS from the World Cup below.

One of the most sensational goals scored in the World Cup was from Robin van Persie, who scored from an amazing header. The Flying Dutchman meme was an overnight hit.

Of course, there was Clint Dempsey’s goal against Ghana, the quickest goal of the tournament. The goal by an American scored at 32 seconds gave the U.S. a 1-0 lead and eventually helped them go on to beat Ghana 2-1.

Lionel Messi often scores beautiful goals but this one is particularly impressive, scored in the 91st minute against Iran. This goal helped Argentina gain three valuable points and defeated Iran 1-0.

After being down the entire first half, Jermaine Jones’ goal from outside the box helped to bring the United States level at 1-1 with Portugal.

Islam Slimani showed what incredible ball control he had as well as beating out two defenders to kick this ball just over the goalkeeper’s head in Algeria’s 4-2 defeat over South Korea.

Tim Cahill scored arguably the best goal in the tournament when he hit the ball with one touch. The rocket rifled the ball into the back of Netherlands’ net. Although Australia lost and failed to make it out of the group stage, this goal will never be forgotten.

Xherdan Shaqiri’s hat trick against Honduras began early when he scored this goal in the 6th minute from outside the box.

James Rodriguez was one of the breakout stars of the World Cup, and this amazing goal scored after a perfect chest trap and then a volley was incredible.

David Luiz scored on this free kick helping Brazil defeat Colombia 2-1 and sending them into the semi-finals.
