I would hardly say they’re desperate or facing do-or-die situations. They are certainly not in the same boat as New England. Reply eplnfl August 19, 2010 I would like to think they have a game or two margin of error but that is not much. It appears that the management feels an urgency to see the Fire have a seeded position in the playoffs which will be really hard to accomplish. The management is known to be concerned about putting people in the seats at Toyota Park. They should be, it’s a business and that pressure to host playoff games is being expressed down to the players from what I can tell. Reply Charles August 19, 2010 “Ultimately in all sports it is defense that wins titles. ”And Ljungberg doesn’t play D. I think that is why it is do or die, even though on the points/game Chicago is in the playoffs as it currently stands. 😉Let’s face it, this is MLS, most of us are going to be fans on the bubble until the final game. Reply eplnfl August 20, 2010 Charles I can only hope your right. While this team may be strong enough not to get beat often draws are a problem. The New England victory came late and we drew with NY at home. Houston is a difficult place to play at this weekend and Seattle will have the house ready to beat us, then home to the Galaxy. Reply boston news August 30, 2010 Regarding the trialists, I was under the impression that the Revolution team was out of salary cap space. I think the lack of cap room was reported in an espn boston article. What move or moves need to be made if the team wishes to sign one of these players? Could we see someone being put on the DP list?
