Juventus have endured a tough season so far. The normally consistent Italian club currently sit sixth in the Serie A standings. Juve is not used to being so far down the table. After all, the Old Lady racked up nine consecutive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2020.

Along with their domestic issues, Juve has also suffered in the Champions League as well. They were recently dropped from the group stage of the competition following a 4-3 defeat to Benfica earlier this week.

Even a Europa League qualification is not yet set in stone for Juve. The Italians will have to have a better Champions League result next week than Maccabi Haifa. The two clubs are currently level on points in the group stage. Juve, however, must face powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

Juventus back Allegri despite pressure from fans

Despite the club’s abnormal dip in form, Juve are publicly backing manager Massimiliano Allegri. Former star Pavel Nedved, and current vice chairman of the club, has told DAZN that they have faith in their manager.

“Our position is always the same. What we always said, the club, players, and everyone have full faith in coach Allegri,” claimed Nedved. “It’s normal when not getting the wins Juve expect that names will emerge in the media, there will probably be more, but we remain firm on our position. We’ll give him the opportunity to do his work and do it well.”

Current Tottenham coach Antonio Conte has been heavily rumored to be Juve’s next coach should Allegri get the ax. Conte has history with the Old Lady, as he was previously manager of the club from 2011-2014. He also played over 400 total matches for Juve as a midfielder as well.

Conte’s current contract with Spurs expires at the end of the campaign. Although the north London outfit wants to re-sign their coach, Conte has baulked. If the Juve job opens up next summer, it may be difficult for their former player to turn down the opportunity.
