Sky Sports, the UK sports TV juggernaut, will televise two MLS games per week beginning with the 2015 season, revealed ESPN’s MLS analyst and co-commentator Taylor Twellman.

No details have been announced yet by Major League Soccer or Sky Sports, but the move by Sky Sports and MLS will certainly help give the American top flight league more exposure and credibility in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland where the public has little awareness or respect for the league.

Interest in MLS in 2015 will be greater this year in the UK than ever before with the additions of Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, David Villa and Kaka to American shores.

The one wrinkle that will need to be ironed out is what game times will be featured on Sky Sports. Given that the UK is five hours ahead of the East Coast and eight hours ahead of the West Coast, the games may be shown in the early hours of the morning unless the MLS games from earlier in the afternoon are televised.
