  1. Tayo says:

Am I the only one pissed that the knuckleheads at FOX decided to air Fox daily around the time most people are still either at work or on their way home. Freaking grinds my gear. And yes ESPN FC airs their show around 11…. still not impressive

  2. Huw Roma says:

I hate Fox Sports 1 for so many reasons. There was no need to get rid of Fox Soccer Channel entirely.

    • FreddyFreak says:

It made no sense to get rid of Fox Soccer. I feel like it was a rash decision done out of spite. At least we can enjoy Mad About You reruns on FXX…

      • Yespage says:

Umm… they lost the EPL rights. What were they going to show? 2011-12 Champions League repeats?

        • FreddyFreak says:

What are you talking about? FXX is not in the bussiness of showing any soccer match. Do you even have cable tv?

          • x says:

Slowly, so you can understand, Fox Soccer had no programming to show without the PL rights anymore. It made TOTAL sense to junk the channel if all they were going to do was show dated CL replays and constant repeats of Being:Liverpool.

            • Christopher Harris says:

FOX Sports has the rights to:

              UEFA Champions League
              UEFA Europa League
              FA Cup
              SPL
              England home matches
              A-League
              Gold Cup
              2015 Women’s World Cup
              Qualification matches for Euro 2016
              Etc

  3. Pete Q says:

I’m sure the brain pool at Fox will find an answer to this problem. They have a track record of solid decision making.

  4. Leo says:

ESPN’s show has more quality. FOX’s is more of a novelty.

FOX has a chance to shine if they put more quality on FOX Soccer PLUS. There is more rugby on FOX Soccer PLUS than there is SOCCER. The ratings would improve if they showed SKY Sports News in the mornings & evenings instead of rugby again.

I fear that FOX is throwing in the towel by not utilizing FS PLUS. I turn to BeIn way more than FS PLUS nowadays.

  5. Velija says:

Does anyone have an idea if they will get rid of that ticker during the full champions league games, I know they used them in the qualifiers but the actual 32 final teams? Also during the England game they used the ticker and its just horrendous.

    • Christopher Harris says:

The ticker is there forever. They even run it during TV commercials.

    • Cantona says:

Agreed the ticker is pointless In this day and age when you can glance at your phone or hit the red button on directv it’s just stupid… The ticker was great in the 90′s but its time has come and went

      Cantona—

  6. JOR says:

No Gus, Warren, or a whining Whine-all-day Wynalda on ESPN FC. That’s why they’re light years ahead in viewership.

  7. Cantona says:

Watched it three times last week… A total fcking joke.. Jar Jar Binks is an idiot and clueless … Cobi is just stupid … And Warren is just laughing every two seconds.. There to just pick up a paycheck..

This is the type of crap we would have expected twenty years ago… Thanks Eric Shanks

    Cantona—

  8. Rod says:

There are Youtube channels with more viewers that Fox Soccer Daily.

  9. Ken says:

I saw the NBC viewing figures for week 1 but haven’t seen any others.
    How are they standing up?

    • Christopher Harris says:

The numbers are still strong — http://worldsoccertalk.com/2013/08/27/manchester-united-vs-chelsea-match-drew-536000-viewers-on-nbcsn/

  10. Leo says:

    How can we get –
    A) Soccer back on FOX SOCCER PLUS ?
    B) SKY Sports News on FOX SOCCER PLUS ?
    C) FOX SOCCER PLUS’ ratings higher ?

  11. Auk79 says:

I watched Fox Soccer Daily for the first few episodes, but it is awful. ESPN FC is much better. I have been listening to people like Sid Lowe for years on the Football weekly podcast done by the Guardian. It is great that ESPN have actually bought in people who actually have some insight to the topic they are discussing. I’m hoping they will eventually give up on Fox Soccer Daily and bring back SkySports News!!!!!!!!

  12. Who Cares? says:

    Reminder:

DIRECTV, DISH, and Time Warner Cable all forced FOX Cable to lower the cost of FOX Sports 1 from $0.80/sub.month to $0.23/sub/month.

That means Comcast and Cox will also pay $0.23 instead of $0.80

NewsCorp will have to cut a LOT of stuff in order to balance the books.

That includes all the “crap that doesn’t sell.”

Crowd Goes Wild and FOX Soccer Daily certainly fit in the “crap that doesn’t sell” category, with negative ROI, if you look at the viewership data posted at the Son of the Bronx blog.

FOX Sports Live is another show with a negative ROI: way too many expensive talking heads, way too few viewers.

  13. keithAVFC says:

While i am forever greatful for what Fox has done to advance Football in the US, it is clear they have gone in a diffrent direction. By all the content on FS1 you can tell they want to go head to head with ESPN as far as American Football and sports highlight packages. Its a true shame they still want people to splash $15 bucks a month for those who like rugby and other programming on FSP.

    • Guy says:

That $15 per month for FSP is down to your provider not FOX.

I have FSP in my Sports Pack with Time Warner. Considering everything I get, $9 per month is well worth it.
