Napoli host Lazio at the Stadio San Paolo knowing that only a victory will do for them if they are to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Rafa Benitez’s side have had a most inconsistent campaign in which they fell at the hands of Dnipro in the semi-final of the Europa League in the middle of a poor run around March when they dropped to as low as sixth on the table.

With the Spaniard having announced his intention to leave his position as manager this summer, possibly to take over at Real Madrid, this is his only opportunity to sign off his time at the Italian side with good memories.

Lazio have also had a disappointing past few weeks in which they lost in the Coppa Italia final to and also got beaten by fierce rivals Roma in the race for second spot.

Nonetheless, they could still finish the season on a high if they avoid defeat away at Naples on Saturday and join Juventus and Roma as Italian representatives in Europe’s premier competition.

Both sides come into this match with two wins apiece from their last six matches so not much separating the sides in terms of form but Napoli have the upper hand on a head-to-head basis as they are unbeaten in the last five league games between the sides

Team News

Napoli have most of the squad fit and available for selection with the exception of Miguel Britos who was red carded against Juventus which means that Ivan Strinic could make a 12th appearance for the club since joining from Dnipro in January.

For the visitors, Lucas Biglia and Stefan Radu are classified as doubts after suffering various degrees of injuries against Roma and Juventus respectively. Lazio have everyone else available to play.
