NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock will stream every USMNT and USWNT game under a new deal agreed between Telemundo Deportes and the US Soccer Federation. Well, almost every game.*

Regardless, if the Spanish language is no issue, which was evidently the case demonstrated by Peacock’s impressive streaming numbers for the World Cup, Peacock looks likely to be the biggest winner for soccer fans in the United States.

With Peacock Premium already having the rights to 180 exclusive Premier League games per season, plus Spanish-language streaming rights for World Cup 2026, the addition of USMNT and USWNT games is the icing on the cake.

Bitter blow for HBO Max

Up until 12 hours ago, HBO Max was the only direct-to-consumer streaming destination for US national team games for 2023. However, in a deal announced 12 hours before the first broadcast, HBO Max now finds itself in direct competition with Peacock.

Currently, HBO Max’s only soccer offering is select games from the US Men’s National Team and US Women’s National Team. Some games are going to be on TNT. However, the prospect of expecting consumers to pay $15.99 per month to watch isolated soccer games may be too much to bear.

At the same time, knowing that Peacock is streaming every USMNT and USWNT game under the new deal in Spanish is more of a comforting feeling. Especially when Peacock features Spanish-language commentary from Andrés Cantor and company. Plus, the price point for Peacock is a very reasonable $4.99 per month.

Peacock USMNT USWNT games: What’s not included

With the US Men’s National Team automatically qualifying for the 2026 World Cup (even though FIFA still hasn’t confirmed it), the Peacock deal for 2023 through 2026 is going to feature less must-win games than previous cycles.

Having said that, the deal for Peacock USMNT USWNT games does include She Believes Cup, high-profile friendlies as well as future competitions to be named.

*What is not included in the Peacock deal is CONCACAF. Those matches include the CONCACAF Nations League as well as CONCACAF Gold Cup. Both those competitions have rights shared between CBS Sports and Univision.

If and when the US Men’s National Team decides to play in Copa America 2024, those rights will go up for bid with FOX Sports the favorite to acquire them.

Between now and 2025, it’s also very likely that the US Soccer Federation will schedule key friendlies in preparation for World Cup 2026. Those include a friendly against Germany that may be played in the United States in either September or October. Plus, we understand that more high-profile friendlies are in the planning stages. All of those games will be streamed live on Peacock, as well as available on television through Telemundo and/or Universo.
