Liverpool Football Club have lost out on the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan after the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder has signed for Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee of £21.5million, according to the BBC.
Brendan Rodgers has already signed Iago Aspas, Kolo Toure and Simon Mignolet this summer, but it’s no secret that Liverpool were chasing Mkhitaryan for his signature. The fact that Dortmund are in the Champions League may have been a major reason why the Armenian signed for the Bundesliga club instead.
