While Fanatiz recently visited Miami, I had a chance to sit down with Fanatiz CEO Matias Rivera to discuss his company’s launch in the United States and their soccer streaming service that will be of particular interest to fans of Latin American soccer.
Here’s the interview:
Christopher Harris (WST): Tell me more about Fanatiz.
Matias Rivera (MR): Fanatiz is a new company focused on live streaming of soccer particularly Latin American soccer. We launched in September 2017. We’re just getting started. We’re distributing the Argentinian, Chilean, Mexican and Peruvian leagues globally. And in the case of the US specifically, we’re distributing the Argentinian Superliga, the Chilean first division league and Chilean Cup. And we just added Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.
WST: What devices is Fanatiz available on?
MR: Right now, we have our website as well as apps on Apple and Android for both phones and tablets. We’re working hard on launching soon for AppleTV, Roku and other TV-compatible devices. At this point, you can always watch on your TV by connecting the computer, Chromecast or AirPlay from your phone or computer as well.
WST: What about pricing? Are there free trials available?
MR: We charge a monthly subscription of $7.99, which includes a 7 days free trial.
WST: What makes Fanatiz different than other streaming providers?
MR: The main differentiation is in the content. So today you cannot watch the Argentinian Superliga on other systems, for example. So if you want to watch it, Fanatiz is your best shot. And what we’re doing is consolidating more and more soccer content. We’re aiming at having a lot of Latin American soccer in one place so that means not only having the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Argentinian and Chilean leagues, but also expanding to other Latin American leagues so that when soccer fans in the United States want to watch Latin American soccer, they know where they have to go.
WST: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
MR: Our system also has game highlights. And our game highlights are actually not part of the subscription plan. They’re available for free so anyone can go into our website today and click on any game and watch highlights.
With a subscription, you can access live games and video-on-demand games that you can watch anytime, anywhere.
Being a legal service, we have a very high quality stream. And our main differentiation is how much effort we put into our technology behind our system to make sure people can watch high quality streams on Fanatiz.
Fanatiz is available as a 7-day free trial.
