Manchester City has announced that the team will play MLS’ Toronto FC at the end of May, just three days after the 2014/15 Premier League season ends.

The friendly between Toronto FC and Manchester City is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 at BMO Field with a 7:30pm ET kickoff time.

Ferran Soriano, Chief Executive of Manchester City FC, said: “We are very excited about the game against Toronto FC. We know from our visit to Vancouver in 2011 the passion for the Club which exists in Canada. We have a very active supporters’ group in Toronto, and are looking forward to bringing our team to showcase their talents to our fans there.”

Tickets will be available with a special pre-sale window for Toronto FC season seat holders beginning today (Wednesday, April 8). Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, April 16. For more details or to purchase tickets, visit www.torontofc.ca or call (416)-360-GOAL (4625).

The match between Toronto and Manchester City is likely to be the only one during City’s visit to North America at the end of the Premier League season. Manchester City had reportedly tried to arrange a friendly against New York City FC for the end of May, but it’s unlikely that’ll happen, hence the reason Toronto was selected as an opponent.

In addition to Manchester City visiting North America this year, Manchester United will be touring the continent this summer. No official dates have been announced thus far. Meanwhile, Newcastle United are considering its own summer tour.
