Arsenal Defender Carl Jenkinson Targeted By Hull City For a 1-Year Loan Deal

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has been quoted as saying he wants to bring Arsenal’s young right back, Carl Jenkinson, to the KC stadium on a one year loan deal.

Jenkinson, 22, made his England debut in 2012 but has struggled to make an impact at Arsenal, only making 37 appearances in 3 years at the Emirates Stadium since his move from Charlton. Though Bacary Sagna has departed the club, new signing Mathieu Debuchy and the imminent arrival of Calum Chambers from Southampton could mean Jenkinson’s playtime is once again limited.

Arsenal would be willing to let the young Englishman leave on a loan deal and Steve Bruce is keen on the youngster.

On Carl Jenkinson, he has said:

“I had a conversation with Arsenal about four or five weeks ago to see if it was possible. And apparently so, it might be.

“We’ll look at that situation but we haven’t had confirmation from Arsenal. I would hate to speak out of turn but we are led to believe the kid might be available – and if he is, then of course we would be interested.”

Due to injury concerns and lack of depth, Hull is looking to bolster their defensive options ahead of their Premier and Europa League campaigns, with Dundee left back Andy Robertson expected to complete his move to The Tigers soon.

However, reports suggest they are not the only ones interested, with reports suggesting West Ham, Swansea and Sunderland are all looking at Jenkinson as an option.
