AS Roma’s sporting director Franco Baldini says that Fulham have finalized a deal for goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg to join the Craven Cottage side.

Fulham’s pursuit of Stekelenburg is well documented. Martin Jol tried to sign the former Ajax goalkeeper in the January transfer window. But embarrassingly for Stekelenburg, the deal for Fulham to sign him collapsed while the goalkeeper was mid-air on his way to London.

Jol has made the signing of a new goalkeeper one of his top priorities since current first-team goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer isn’t getting any younger, and his contract is set to expire this summer.

How well do you think 30-year-old Maarten Stekelenburg will adapt to the Premier League at Fulham? And would you consider this a coup by Fulham to capture his signature? Have your say in the comments section below.
