With the November international break wrapping up, Premier League players return to their clubs for gameweek 12. Now, we stand roughly a third of the way through the 2021/22 campaign. Already, we see the groundwork for what could be an exciting December and January.
A fixture between two big six sides highlights the schedule in England’s top flight this weekend. Fourth-placed Liverpool host a fifth-placed Arsenal side on a hot run of form. Arsenal is undefeated in its last eight games. Remember, Mikel Arteta’s side sat bottom of the table with three losses and zero goals scored after three games. Now, the Gunners are two points off a Champions League spot.
Contrarily, Liverpool has just two wins in its last five, far from the standard set by Klopp.
Before then, Chelsea look set to use Christian Pulisic as the Blues already top the table. Chelsea gets the weekend started with a fun game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
A threesome of managers make their debuts with new clubs this weekend. Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool legend and former Rangers boss, took over at Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Norwich begins its Dean Smith era against Southampton while Eddie Howe steps in at Newcastle.
All managers appear among the six games lined up in the 10 a.m. window. Thankfully, Goal Rush returns on Peacock to keep fans up to speed with everything happening during the 10 a.m. window.
Rebecca Lowe hosts NBC’s studio coverage before and after each game this weekend. Robbie Earle and Tim Howard join Lowe.
Two quietly interesting games wrap up action on Sunday. Manchester City hosts Everton, looking to keep pace with Chelsea. Then, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham battle Leeds in the weekend finale in the Premier League.
