AC Milan have a smaller obstacle to overcome en route to a UEFA Cup title.  Tuesday’s draw in Nyon saw them favored in the group stages as they will face off against Heerenveen, SC Braga,  Portsmouth, and Wolfsburg.  Meanwhile, Sampdoria and Udinese will see it extremely difficult in groups C and D respectively.

La Samp will have a tough, yet accessible group as they will face none other than two-time UEFA Cup champs Sevilla and German powerhouse Stuttgart as well as Serbian side FK Partizan and Standard Liege from Belgium.

The Zebrette find themselves in the same position as they face Premiership side Tottenham, Spartak Moscow, Dinamo Zagreb, and Eredivisie side Nijmegen.

In UEFA Cup play, the teams that finish first and third in every group will be paired off in the following round.  The second place teams will be paired off against the third place teams that come out of the Champions League groups.  Group stage play begins on October 23rd.
