Erling Haaland has been an absolute sensation since his arrival to Manchester City this summer. The Norway international move to Manchester from Borussia Dortmund after just a year-and-a-half in Germany.

After netting a brace in City’s 3-1 victory against Brighton on Saturday, Haaland now has an unfathomable 22 goals in just 14 total matches this season. He is currently on pace to smash the Premier League’s goal record.

Because of his success, Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has claimed that her client could very well be worth £1 billion (about $1.1 billion). “If you put together his football value, his image value, his sponsor value, it is for sure £1 billion,” Pimenta told Sky Sports.

Haaland £1 billion player?

“It’s normal to compare Erling with [Kylian] Mbappe, so you have a little bit of an idea of the market – I think Erling would be the first player to achieve a transfer that would be around £1 billion.”

Pimenta was tight-lipped when asked about reports that Haaland has a release clause in his current contract. City manager Pep Guardiola previously rejected the claims, but the agent wasn’t so dismissive. “The good and bad of being a lawyer is that you know what you cannot say,” said Pimenta. “You don’t need somebody poking you like, ‘Don’t say this, don’t say that.’ I cannot talk about it.”

However, Pimenta was open about the idea of discussing a new deal with City. Despite the fact that Haaland just arrived to the Premier League champions, the agent was hopeful over a new contract. “I hope so,” proclaimed Pimenta when asked about the possibility of contract negotiations. “If [City] want to discuss today, we’d be happy. Why not? Always good.”

Pimenta previously worked with the late super agent Mino Raiola for more than two decades. Raiola, however, passed away in April and the Brazilian lawyer has taken over the reigns with the company.
