<p>Without a title in any tournament, Barcelona’s 2023-24 season will go down in history as one of the more forgettable in club history.</p>



<p>They are surely already thinking about next season and the summer transfer market, despite four La Liga games left. Even so, the objective would be to return with more firepower.</p>



<p>Coming soon to the Blaugrana fans is the much-anticipated return to <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/barcelona-denies-accusations-of-labor-abuse-in-camp-nou-project-20231122-WST-472087.html">Camp Nou</a>. After being closed for over a year, the stadium will soon reopen. It will again accommodate some of the club’s most ardent fans during the next season.</p>



<h2>Barcelona hopes for Camp Nou during the Champions League</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20240508/1002242588/enero-liga-spotify-camp-nou-champions-montjuic.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mundo Deportivo</a> reports that the Catalans have already notified UEFA that they would hold next season’s games in two venues. Their season kicks off in <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/no-camp-nou-return-barcas-decision-on-estadi-olimpic-future-20231007-WST-460996.html">Montjuic’s Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys</a>. The refurbished Spotify Camp Nou, on the other hand, won’t open to the public until later in the season.</p>



<p>The current schedule has <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/teams/barcelona-tv-schedule/">Barcelona</a> returning to their Spotify Camp Nou home around the middle of December. Restoration work on the famous stadium began last summer. Thus, they had already scheduled a date for its reopening.</p>



<p>The original target date was November 29—the club’s anniversary—to mark the reopening of the gates. But now it’s set for December 15, when the club officials have requested that <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/where-to-watch-la-liga-on-us-tv-and-internet/">La Liga</a> arrange the venue’s inaugural match.</p>



<p>Even though it won’t be finished until at least 2025, by the end of this year, 60% of its capacity should be available. For the time being, let’s just say that out of the stadium’s 105,000 seats, roughly 63,000 will be available to fans.</p>

<h2>Big inspiration to play well in the Champions League</h2>



<p>However, Xavi and his players will need to do well if they want the Champions League song played next season at the brand-new venue. Thus, the Camp Nou may host certain matches again, but it won’t be the site of every game.</p>



<p>Under UEFA regulations, teams are not allowed to switch home stadiums while competing in the group phase of European soccer. As a result, the 2024-25 group stage won’t finish until next January. It means that the Blaugrana can’t host <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/champions-league-tv-schedule/">Champions League</a> matches at home until then.</p>



<p>So, if they make it to the knockout stage, Xavi’s squad may get a huge lift by playing in the Round of 16 at their stadium. While their time at Montjuic has been beneficial, the return to Camp Nou should have a far greater effect on the team’s results.</p>



<p>Along with a roof and escalators, the new stadium will offer a plethora of other new amenities. Despite previous reports, according to Elena Fort, the club’s spokesperson, it will not include a 360-degree electronic board. Moreover, the Barcelona Fire Department approved the breathtaking <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/2030-world-cup-to-offer-potential-relief-to-barcas-financial-woes-20231011-WST-461528.html">new ‘skywalk’ proposal</a>.</p>



<p>From above, on the ground level, a promenade will provide a panoramic view of the stadium and the city below. Unfortunately, the ‘skywalk’ won’t be available to the public until the roof finishes. That is in 2026.</p>

<p>For the first time, the World Cup spreads across three continents. Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will all host matches in 2030. To commemorate the inaugural tournament’s centennial anniversary of Uruguay 1930, South America will open the tournament. Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina will each host games.</p>



<p>While Spain and Morocco have yet to finalize their stadium choices, serious planning can now begin. In contrast, Spain has 15 stadiums in 13 different towns that might potentially host the tournament.</p>



<p>Each venue must accommodate at least 40,000 spectators. FIFA requires 60,000 for the Semifinals and 80,000 for the World Cup Final. That leaves Spain with just two potential venues. <h5>Early Camp Nou predictions not positive</h5>



<p>Despite their perfect record in the Olympic Stadium, the team surely can’t wait to go back to their comfort zone at their own stadium. Originally, the Spotify Camp Nou homecoming for the Blaugrana was scheduled until late in the year 2024.</p>



<p>However, it seems like they will be staying gone for a little longer and won’t be coming back anytime soon. <a href="https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/directo-debate-barcelona-espai-barca-92955992" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cadena SER</a> have learned through Jaume Roures, a close confidant of Barcelona President Joan Laporta, that the Camp Nou will not be completed on schedule.</p>



<p>“We had to build a new stadium, not remodel the current one. It was feasible and possible to build a new stadium in a new location that would also have been cheaper than the current refurbishment.</p>



<p>“On the other hand, it is obvious to say that next year the Camp Nou will not be finished. This seems obvious to me. You won’t be able to play in the conditions that are being said.”</p>

<p>Google is reportedly in advanced talks with <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/teams/tottenham-tv-schedule/">Tottenham Hotspur</a> over naming rights to its home stadium. Completed in 2019, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a state-of-the-art complex that cost around $1.1 billion to construct.</p>



<p>As of now, the club has no partnership for the stadium. Hence, the name of the ground is simply Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Even then, <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/supporters-groups/tottenham-hotspur-supporters-groups/">Spurs </a>CEO <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/2022/02/18/disturbed-conte-slams-talk-of-rift-with-spurs-chairman-levy/">Daniel Levy</a> stated in the past that naming rights are of interest to him and the club.</p>



<p>“We are only going to do a naming rights deal if we get the right brand, in the right sector, on the right money,” <a href="https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/daniel-levy-new-tottenham-stadium-club-new-dawn-a4316696.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">said Levy back in 2019</a>. “If we can’t meet those three criteria, we won’t do it. At the moment, we haven’t found a company that meets all three criteria. We are not really close to anything on that at the moment.”</p>



<p>Levy’s patience may be about to pay off. Obviously, Google is one of the most valuable businesses on the planet. The American tech company also entered sports partnerships with McLaren Racing Formula 1 team, the NBA, and MLB.</p>



<h2>Google interested in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium naming rights</h2>



<p>Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is certainly one of the bigger draws when it comes to soccer complexes in England. The <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/premier-league-tv-schedule/">Premier League</a> is already a major attraction and Spurs are also currently in the <a href="https:\/\/worldsoccertalk.com/champions-league-tv-schedule/">Champions League</a>. Then, combine this with the fact that it is a simply stunning stadium. Plus, it has the third-largest capacity in the country for soccer at 62,580. Therefore, Google’s interest is no shocker.</p>



<p>Along with soccer matches, the stadium has already hosted multiple National Football League games, significant concerts, and heavyweight title bouts as well.</p>

<p>Financial terms have not yet been suggested. Yet, in the event of a deal, Spurs earn a big boost on the books. For instance, Arsenal extended their stadium naming rights, along with jersey sponsorship, in 2019 in a reported deal worth about <a href="https:\/\/www.emirates.com/media-centre/emirates-and-arsenal-renew-sponsorship-deal/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">$56 million</a> per season.</p>



<p>Spotify also recently partnered with Barcelona to rename their stadium ‘Spotify Camp Nou’ for a reported <a href="https:\/\/www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/fc-barcelona-agree-to-sponsorship-deal-with-spotify-will-rebrand-stadium-as-spotify-camp-nou/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">$310 million deal</a> over four years. This breaks down to more than $75 million annually.</p>


Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could see its naming rights change to Google, with the mega-company interested in acquiring the name.
