Soccer games on US TV and streaming weekend of Sept. 9-12

jeff-stelling

With several of the major clubs in Europe already thinking ahead to next week’s UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches, many of the games this weekend will be played on Saturday instead of Sunday to give the team’s one day of extra rest. Many of them will need it after just returning from international duty.

There are 85 matches to choose from that will be shown across the United States this weekend. You’ve got the Manchester derby, the first Old Firm in the league in four years, there’s Schalke against Bayern Munich in a big match in Germany, as well as LA Galaxy versus Orlando City.

Seems a bit counter intuitive to make a picture of Jeff Stelling the picture for an article on options for how to watch games on US TV when we are all unable to watch Gillette SS and thus most people have never heard of him

A lot of the readers of this site would know who Jeff Stelling is even if they haven’t seen Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports. But what photo would you suggest instead that would sum up the article?

Martino’s hair is particularly fluffy today.

Have you had any response from DirecTV as to why their Goal Rush didn’t appear on any channel (including the advertised 491)?

      September 10, 2016 at 10:41 pm

We don’t know. We didn’t report it. It’s possible it could have been a programming guide error from DirecTV. If it happens again, Goal Rush can be watched live on NBC Sports App.

DIrectv 491 is supposed to be Goal Rush, but all I am seeing is Palace v. Middlesbrough.

Alternative is to watch it on NBC Sports App.

No GoalRush as advertised in the guide on DIRECTV channel 491

What an amazing list for a country where soccer is a minority sport. We really are spoiled for choice.
Come on you Saints! Do Arsenal 4-0 again.
