Bayern Munich

2015-16 Bundesliga schedule released

The full 2015-16 Bundesliga schedule was released earlier today, with title holders Bayern Munich getting the season started off against Hamburg in the first matchup of the campaign on August 14th.

While the German champions will certainly be heavy favorites, there have been some interesting final scores in recent games versus “The Red Shorts.”  Over the last five matches in which Bayern played Hamburg at home, the German giants have racked up a cumulative score of 31-3.

Other intriguing meetings in week one of the Bundesliga season include: Borussia Dortmund vs. Borussia Monchengladbach (Thomas Tuchel’s first league match as manager of Dortmund), Werder Bremen vs. Schalke, and Bayer Leverkusen vs. TSG Hoffenheim.  Augsborg, perhaps the most surprising team in the German league last season, will also feature at home against Hertha Berlin.

Looking ahead to some important matches throughout the 2015-16 campaign, Bayern Munich face off against last season’s runners-up, Wolfsburg, on match day six (September 22nd or 23rd) and match day 23 (February 26th, 27th, or 28th).

Bayern also play Borussia Dortmund on match day eight (October 2nd, 3rd, or 4th) and match day 25 (March 4th, 5th, or 6th).  Bayern and Dortmund are the two most successful clubs in Germany.

The Ruhr derby, contested between bitter rivals Dortmund and Schalke, are set for match day 12 (November 6th, 7th, or 8th) and match day 29 (April 8th, 9th, or 10th).  The two clubs are located only about 20 miles apart from each other.

Using Fox Soccer Plus is a big fail. Fox soccer plus is missing from Comcast and others. I hope I am wrong. I wanted to watch BVB this season.

Does anybody know who is going to show the games here in Canada? I think FOX got the rights for Canada as well but we dont have foxsports. Goltv Canada was showing the bundesliga games so far.

Do we know anything about Fox’s plans on the Bundesliga?

They better show at least 1 live game on FS1/FS2, alongside a review show.

And no FS Plus, please, at $15/month, no one is watching this channel.

FOX hasn’t said a word unfortunately. We probably won’t hear anything until the end of July or beginning of August.

I’m assuming Friday and weekend mornings will have FS1 with FS2 and possibly FS+ getting the call if there are multiple games at once. Then Saturday afternoon games would likely get Fox or FS1 depending on CFB.

I hope so, but it’s more likely that Bayern Munich games will be on FOX Sports 1 while 2 other games per weekend are on FOX Sports 2. The remainder will be available on FOX Soccer 2GO and FOX Soccer Plus. Just an educated guess based on insider gossip I’ve heard.

While the Bundesliga is a great league to watch, the league has been practically invisible in the last 5 years thanks to GolTV, so ratings have been miniscule. It’s going to take time to build that audience.

I just saw that the first couple of games are scheduled to be on FS Plus, other games still listed as TBD, which is a bad sign. I have DirecTV and the channel is available to me but like you said, it’s not worth its current price. I’ll never understand why they didn’t just add it to the Sports Pack back when the channel was first launched.

Sigh… I was hoping to finally get to see live games of my favorite team (Borussia Dortmund!) again here on US TV since GolTV was dropped by DirecTV a while back.
