Barcelona are taking no risks with Luis Suarez leading up to their Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday (live on ESPN2 in the United States).

The Uruguayan has not returned to first team training since picking up a knock during the club’s Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on May 12.

The striker was ruled out of Barcelona’s next game at the Vicente Calderon where La Blaugrana were crowned La Liga champions, and did not feature this past weekend during the club’s 2-2 draw with Deportivo.

However, Suarez is scheduled to return to first team training on Wednesday, three days ahead of the Copa del Rey final at the Camp Nou.

Manager Luis Enrique has been extra cautious with Suarez in an attempt to have the Uruguayan fully fit for the club’s massive games against Bilbao and Juventus in the coming weeks.

Suarez has combined with Lionel Messi and Neymar to form what likely end up being the best attacking trio in the history of La Liga; which would be an astounding defeat considering the Uruguay was suspended for the first two months of the season.

The Barcelona strikers have contributed 117 goals in all competitions to date. They are just one goal behind the mark set by Real Madrid’s trio of Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo (118 goals) during the 2011-12 campaign. With two fixtures remaining, it can be expected that Messi, Suarez and Neymar will surpass that tally.
