QPR vs Aston Villa; Starting Lineups, TV Times and Open Thread

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is running out of excuses to save his job at Loftus Road.

All season long, Redknapp has been selling his QPR team short. In the summer, after promotion back to the Premier League, he said his team was decimated by injuries even though the club was stocked with so many overpaid footballers. In the press conference prior to today’s game, Redknapp again used the injury excuse, explaining how so many of his players have been unable to start for the club this season. And now he prepares for a huge match against Aston Villa. A defeat for the R’s and it could be shopping time for Tony Fernandes again as he seeks a replacement for Redknapp. Tony Pulis, anyone?

Here’s today’s TV schedule for viewers/readers in the United States:

Villa looked absolutely atrocious. Controlled the game yet never came close to threatening.

And Agbonlahor is useless. I’m at the end of patience with his act.

His accent is a little off-putting, and he is a little raw as a commentator, but he’ll be fine long term. I’d take over Twellman 8 days a week.

I agree. Martin Tyler has had to prompt him several time in order to get something out him. I do think he will improve over time, this is his first time commentating a match. If. Fox does sign him, he will be a big improvement over anything they have now.

It wasn’t the first time he’s commentated a match.

I’m sorry for saying this but after 70 minutes Brad Friedal isn’t doing much for me. He’s obviously knowledgeable but pretty damn dry. I do like him otherwise.

His accent is a mess. An odd sounding amalgam of English and ‘Muurican. Very distracting.

You live and work as long as he has in the UK and try not to pick up an unholy combo accent.
