NBC Sports will broadcast a Sunday Premier League game on its over-the-air NBC network for the first-time this season when Liverpool hosts Southampton at 12:15pm ET.

Prior to this Sunday’s game, the only Premier League games shown on the national over-the-air NBC network before was last season’s game between Chelsea and Manchester United. But given that Sunday’s game will be live on the NBC network where no cable or satellite subscription is required, as well as the convenient kick-off time of 12:15pm ET, the expectations are high for a large viewing audience for the Premier League rights holder in the United States.

Plus the game will be Jurgen Klopp’s first league game in charge of Liverpool at Anfield.

This Sunday, NBC Sports will be showing three back-to-back games on its networks. At 8am ET, the Tyne-Wear derby between Sunderland and Newcastle kicks off on NBCSN, which is followed by Manchester United versus Manchester City at 10am ET (again on NBCSN). Then, once the Manchester derby wraps up, the third and final game of the day on television will be Liverpool versus Southampton, beginning at 12:15pm ET.

Bournemouth versus Spurs will also be televised Sunday on the Premier League Extra Time overflow channel beginning at 10am ET.

NBC Sports continues to push the envelope to grow the sport in the United States. NBC Sports Group has been televising Premier League games on the USA Network every Saturday morning.
