Arsenal Name 20-Man Squad For Friendly Against New York Red Bulls

Arsenal Football Club has announced its squad for this Saturday’s friendly against New York Red Bulls in the 2014 New York Cup.

Arsenal footballers, manager Arsene Wenger and staff departed England earlier today on their way to New York City. Meanwhile, Arsenal supporters from across North America and England will be making their way to Harrison, New Jersey for Saturday’s match, which kicks off at 5pm ET (and will be shown live on ESPN2).

This will be the first Arsenal game in the United States in 25 years.

Goalkeepers: Damien Martinez, Wojciech Szczesny

Defenders: Hector Bellerin, Kieran Gibbs, Isaac Hayden, Carl Jenkinson, Ignasi Miquel, Nacho Monreal

Midfielders: Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Abou Diaby, Mathieu Flamini, Kristoffer Olsson, Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky, Jon Toral, Jack Wilshere, Gedion Zelalem

Forward: Chuba Akpom

Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are continuing their recovery from injury back in England, while Yaya Sanogo is a curious absentee. His exclusion from the squad may mean he might be going on loan to another side soon.
