Arsenal and Adidas have extended their partnership until 2030.  The north London club celebrated the deal with a dominating 3-1 victory over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.  Arsenal essentially controlled the match from start to finish.  Goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, and Granit Xhaka sank Spurs on the day.

Arsenal extend Adidas kit deal

The Gunners reunited with the German sportswear brand in 2019 after a 25 year break.  Arsenal previously had kit deals with Nike and Puma throughout the late ’90s and 2000s.

The club’s Chief Commercial Officer Juliet Slot was clearly enthusiastic about the extension.  “We’re delighted to agree a new partnership with Adidas until 2030,” said Slot.  “The long-term nature of our extension means there’s a real commitment to build on this brilliant collaboration, with a strong focus on growing women’s football and developing our sustainability strategy.”

“Since we’ve been reunited, we’ve driven initiatives and investment in our local communities, and developed exciting and bold product ranges for our players and supporters alike,” continued Slot.  “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made together and we’re excited to take our partnership forward.”

Arsenal has recently made attempts to become a more sustainable club.  These ventures include installing Electric Vehicle charging stations for fans, implementing re-usable cups, and even using electric mowers to cut the award-winning grass at the stadium.  The partnership with Adidas will help continue these efforts.

Adidas’ commitment to be green

Adidas has committed to using more recycled polyester in their clothing within the next two years.  The duo also teamed up to support local social issues as well.  Arsenal introduced their No More Red campaign earlier in the year.  This initiative brings awareness to violence, particularly among youngsters.  Adidas made special all white jerseys in support of the cause.

“The work we have done with Arsenal has broken new ground in football partnerships and both on and off the pitch Arsenal continues to be at the forefront of the sport,” stated Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted.  “We’re truly excited to continue to support both the men’s and women’s teams, delivering the very best for the athlete.”
