Mourinho’s post-match interview after losing 1-3 to Southampton

jose-mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was in his usual form after his team sunk 1-3 against Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

In an post-match interview, his first answer clocked in at 7 minutes long.

Some of his memorable quotes from the interview include:

“I consider myself the best.”

“We are in such a bad moment. We should not be afraid to be honest. The referees are afraid to give Chelsea decisions. I don’t care if I get punished [by the FA].”

“I don’t run away. If the club wants to sack me, they will have to sack me. I am convinced we will finish top four.”

“If they sack me, they sack the best manager this club has ever had.”

Mourinho is under pressure.

What are your thoughts regarding the way the team is playing, and how Mourinho is doing in the top job at Chelsea?

Why is Mourinho continuing to play Branislav Ivanovic as right back even though everyone seems to know he’s a liability in the position?

Jose is just afrait to fail this season. I think at this juncture, he has to be careful on what he spell out to the public. He should go back and restrategize.

To bring up the possibility of being sacked when up until that point nobody had considered it a possibility shows how badly the wheels have come off. He seems to have a 3 year shelf life everywhere he goes before he loses the dressing room. Judging by the way they were completely outplayed by Southampton, it’s not far from the end for Mourinho.

That was one of the craziest post-game interviews given. The interviewer asked his question in 10 words and Jose went on for 7 straight minutes and ended it then. The interviewer’s hand must have been in pain keeping the mike in one position for so long.

This is the dreaded 3rd season blues with Mourinho. He always struggles in his 3rd season at any club and walks away with a huge payoff. Looks like Mourinho might get the sack before his buddy Rodgers.

notice the subtle doubt expressed in “I am convinced we will finish top 4” not win the league sounds like he is even settling for less now

Chelsea need to work on the defence and the midfield.
