AS Roma captain Francesco Totti says he expects a reaction from his team during what could be a season-defining period for the Serie A club.

Roma are preparing to take on Feyenoord in the second leg of the Europa League later today, with a showdown against Italian champions Juventus looming on Monday.

The Giallorossi drew with Feyenoord during the first leg in Rome, but the Dutch club have an away-goals edge over their Italian opponents heading into today’s encounter at the Feijenoord Stadion.

Roma also trail league-leaders Juventus by nine points on the Serie A table, and could fall 12 points behind should they suffer another setback at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday.

With these two season-defining matches upcoming, Totti expects his team to react to the pressurized moment and get the vital results the club needs to endure this season.

“We have to play our own game and try to go through,” the Roma captain said prior to today’s game against Feyenoord.

“When you have positive results, every task becomes easier. If we can win and go through, we’ll face a tough Juventus differently and will play a great game.”

Roma have been struggling both domestically and in Europe in recent times.

The Italian club has drawn six of their last seven Serie A outings, while going six games without a European away win (D3 L3).

“What has happened in the last two months? We’ve not been getting results,” Totti bluntly stated. “We’ve had too many draws and we’ve not been brilliant.

“When you win everything is simple. Now we have the fans and the media breathing down our neck.

“I expect a reaction, and there will be one.”
