PES 2012: A Dozen Gameplay Videos For Your Viewing Pleasure

If you’re curious about what PES 2012 has to offer, watch the following dozen videos that show what the gameplay looks like. Videotaped by soccer fans who attended last week’s Gamescom video game trade show in Cologne, Germany, the Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 videos were recorded off-screen from the trade show floor.

Looking at the videos, I think many of you will agree that the graphics and gameplay look as good, if not better, than FIFA 12. But what do you think?

Looks the same as last year. I’d rather see them fix some problems with the core gameplay than adding features like being able to control two players at once. PES is a good game, but I still feel that Konami have done poorly on this generation of consoles if judged by their own high standards. The player physics engine is pretty outdated at this point, despite the ball and net physics probably being as good or better than FIFA’s. FIFA haven’t been perfect either, but they’ve managed to have the better game year in year out since at least 2008. At this point, I’m about ready to give up on PES for this generation of consoles and hope that they just start from scratch when the next ones come out. They still haven’t released anything on the PS3 or 360 that compares to their brilliant PS2 games.

I’ll still download the demo, read the reviews and try to give it a fair chance, but I see no way in which I personally could prefer this year’s PES to this year’s FIFA.
