Go 'Beyond The Pitch' For Quality Soccer Interviews

In life, things evolve. That includes the EPL Talk Podcast which has transformed from its launch in 2006 as an interview show to it’s current format which is a mixture of expert analysis on the Premier League and a bonus of an occasional interview now and again. Over the years, we’ve conducted interviews with some of the biggest names in the sport such as Paul Scholes, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Steve McClaren and over 100 others. But we’ve found a podcast which has secured interviews with names that are just as big. And we’d like to turn you on to it.

The Beyond The Pitch Podcast, hosted by Phil and Anthony, is an interview show that brings you some of the biggest names from the Beautiful Game. For example, just this week, they featured exclusive interviews with Chelsea’s Michael Essien and commentator Clive Tyldesley. The interview with Essien was to celebrate him being nominated peace ambassador 2010 by the African union and to talk about his foundation. Tyldesley, meanwhile, discussed his career as a football commentator and shared some of his favorite stories about Brian Clough.

And later this week, Beyond The Pitch will debut exclusive interviews with Rio Ferdinand and Jozy Altidore. And previous interviews have featured Sid Lowe, Ray Hudson, Gabriel Marcotti, Paul Merson, Lee Sharpe and many others.

Be sure to give Beyond The Pitch a listen either online or via iTunes.

Excellent Mike, that is really great to hear. Im glad you like the intros, we think thats important, some people may not always know who the players are or maybe they dont know some anecdotal details about them. We love feedback, its great to have a friend in the business like EPL Talk, as a young show, we can learn so much from the guys here. We sincerely appreciate you listening Mike and thanks for the feedback.

I recently started listening to both the EPL Talk and BTP podcasts. I love both for different reasons. As an American, I don’t have the legacy of EPL of football in Europe or around the world, and the interviews bring that to me in ways I couldn’t imagine. I have become a fan of Werder Breman and Juventus specifically because of the insight of interviews, and I was moved today in listening to the interview with Lesley Gaetjens. I specifically enjoy the intros and outros to the guests. Football/soccer is truly a world uniter, and BTP is helping through bringing the names into my world. Thank you, and keep up the great work.

We know we’re not perfect so we do appreciate feedback folks, we would like to get more MLS content. I couldn’t agree more. A top-notch podcast that I’ve been listening to for the past couple months or so.
