After Manchester City’s pitiful performance against Southampton, where the Saints walked over the current Premier League champions, manager Roberto Mancini accused his team of complacency and singled out goalkeeper Joe Hart for criticism.
“It’s not strange because he did two or three mistakes this year and this is not good for us,” he said. “Joe is a good keeper but a goalkeeper can’t do a mistake like this. Probably we think because we won last year we are top players, but to stay at the top you need to work like we did last year.”
After an incredible season last year where Hart was one of the key reasons why City won the title, the young England goalkeeper is going through a run of several bad performances. The timing couldn’t be worse for City who could effectively be out of the title race if neighbors Manchester United beat Everton tomorrow.
