Several United States Men’s National Team players have been tweeting good luck photos to the members of the women’s national team who share their jersey numbers.
It seems that every member of the men’s senior team with a Twitter account has sent out a corresponding tweet to their “number twin” ahead of the USWNT debut game against Australia later today.
Similar to the men’s team last year in Brazil, the women’s team has been placed in the tournament’s “group of death” and support has been flooding in from all sections of U.S. Soccer. Head Coach Jurgen Klinsmann also sent a video to the women’s team.
The corresponding numbers are interesting to see, goalkeeper Brad Guzan shares a number with midfielder/forward Lauren Holiday.
